The love and hate of siblings dynamics

with Chris Williams

Chris is a Director of the Centre and teaching faculty member. He has been working in the therapeutic field for over 30 years and currently works as a  Constellations Practitioner, Psychotherapist, Coach and Supervisor.

This masterclass is part of our Continuing Professional Development series and does not constitute a training in Systemic Constellation Work. CSC considers a formal training of at least 30 days to be the minimum requirement for practice.

Who is it for?

This masterclass is open to anyone who wishes to attend to their own, or client, sibling dynamics, including those who are only children.

What you will learn/develop

An exploration of sibling dynamics in families, both nuclear and blended families and how it impacts on work and our place in other social groups.

Given the importance of siblings in the life of families and our psyche, it is surprising that they are given little attention and thought in personal development work, including in systemic constellation work.

In this Masterclass, we will dive deep into the hidden dynamics of sibling relationships; the archetypes in our cultures; how we overlay the sibling matrix onto our social and work groups; how we may carry earlier generation-sibling dynamics into our own sibling relationships. We will explore what is needed to unlock the knots that create tensions, rivalries, unrealistic expectations, imbalances etc.

I will be covering how parents shape our sibling dynamics, including when being an only child, or with siblings who died, siblings who never came (miscarriages and abortions), and vanished twins. And how all of these shapes our social world through our lives. We will look at both the therapeutic and systemic challenges, with a particular examination of the Orders of Love.

Course Date

This online masterclass will be held on Friday 6st September from 1430 to 1730 UK time.
