Exploring Intimate Relationships

We wish for our intimate relationships to be romantic, loving and passionate, longings fed by film, tv and the wider culture. But the reality can be that they are also challenging, tense, or overly routine-orientated. The flow of love can be interrupted by unseen dynamics that arise from blind personal loyalties and deep systemic entanglements, which may create distance, conflict, and even crises.

In this workshop Chris and Sheila will use systemic constellation work to enable participants to explore their intimate relationships. The workshop will address the unconscious motivations and the trans-generational dynamics that may be influencing the system and impacting on our capacity to be an intimate other. We will also explore what may undermine the potential to be in a relationship.

Who is it for?

This event is open to anyone who wishes to attend to their own, or client, relational dynamics, including those who are not in a relationship

What will your learn/develop?

We will dive into the hidden dynamics of relationships; the balance of give and take, the roles and beliefs that people bring to relationships; how we may be carrying trans-generational dynamics into our own  relationships.

We will explore what is needed to unlock the knots that create tensions, rivalries, unrealistic expectations, imbalances etc. The day will include teaching, exercises and constellations that the whole group will participate in.

 The experience of the day

The day will be dynamic, explorative and both personal and collective. Everyone in the group will be part of each piece of work. There will also be time for exploring our ongoing experience, so that we gather our insight and wisdom together. The shape of the day will follow the needs of the group, as we tenderly explore what wishes to be seen and heard and healed.

Participants who would like to do a piece of work are invited, before the workshop begins, to email a short paragraph that describes the essence of their question and provides details of what they would like to explore.  Details of how to do this will be sent after booking.

All requests for a constellation will be collected and grouped so that, although there is only one ‘Holder of the Issue’ at a time, everyone who feels connected to the question is also included in the constellation in a personal way.
